A Niagara Falls man is under arrest on arson charges in connection with a rooming house fire that left 20 people homeless.
Thirty-two-year-old Jerome Wingfield was taken into custody Saturday. Besides arson, Wingfield is being charged with burglary and reckless endangerment. He'll be arraigned Monday.
At least two residents suffered injuries in the Friday night fire. But fire officials said the toll could have been much worse without quick efforts by firefighters to rescue people out of windows.
