Volunteer firefighter killed in one-car crash

WBFO News File Photo

Authorities say a volunteer firefighter has died in a one-car crash in Western New York.

The Genesee County Sheriff's Office says the wreck happened around 8 p.m. Tuesday in Oakfield.

Authorities say 37-year-old David Beehler Jr. was behind the wheel of his pickup truck when it left the roadway and hit a tree and utility pole. He was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The Oakfield man was a volunteer firefighter with the Elba Fire Department.

It's unclear at this time what led up to the crash.
