New Yorkers predict a Hillary Clinton presidency in 2016

Siena Research Institute

A majority of New Yorkers predict that the first woman will be elected President of United States in the coming year. Siena Research Institute Director, Don Levy says, a new poll shows 65 percent of respondents think it's somewhat or very likely that a woman will win the White House.

"With all due respect to Carly Fiorina, I think most New Yorkers are thinking of Hillary Clinton, and New Yorkers give her a very good chance of taking the White House in November," Levy said.

On the flip side, the 800 New Yorkers surveyed had a decidedly different view about Donald Trump's chances.

"Sixty-seven percent of us think it's not very or not at all likely. Only seven percent of New Yorkers think that we'll be inaugurating Donald Trump in 2017," Levy said.

The poll also shows 53 percent predict their financial life will improve in 2016. Only 34 percent plan to make a New Year's resolution.
