Wilson Foundation donates $4.2 million to Kaleida adult services

Chris Caya WBFO News

Day services for local adults will be easier to access thanks to the late former Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson.

Wilson's wife Mary on Friday announced that the Wilson Foundation is donating $4.2 million to Kaleida Health's adult day services and senior home care program.

"He loved winning, whether it was tennis or football, and he knew that this is a great way for the communities that had been so great to him that he can be great to. I really think that's how he thought and it's just definitely over the top to be a part of it," Mary Wilson said.

For many years, Ralph Wilson provided funding to help defray the cost of attendance and transportation to Kaleida's adult day service program run by the Visiting Nursing Association.

Their facilities in North Tonawanda and Amherst have been renamed "Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Adult Day Services."
