A former President of St. Bonaventure University has passed away. Dr. Robert J. Wickenheiser died on Wednesday at age 72. The cause of death was not released. Wickenheiser was the 19th president of the school, holding office for nine years before leaving in the fray of an athletic scandal in 2003. He is credited with bringing much needed financial stability to the school as well as overseeing a number of significant campus developments.
Wickenheiser is recognized as being St. Bonaventure’s first lay president.
