The memory of former Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson will live on for years in to the future. The Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation has announced $7 million in gifts for local groups.
In Buffalo on Tuesday, Wilson's wife Mary said people always remember the first time they ever met Ralph because he had so much fun. Wilson says he loved life and the endowments are for six areas that Ralph cared very much about.
"It's truly amazing that this magnificent man carries on in such a big way. But is anyone surprised? Ralph was a big man," Wilson said.
Endowments are now in place for Hunter's Hope, the Western New York Amateur Football Alliance, the Community Foundation, cancer care, community assets and youth sports.
Mary Wilson said that she met Ralph in 1990 and went to four Super Bowls with him. She said Tuesday is "another Super Bowl" with his legacy giving.
