Lake snow moves into Southern Tier

Parts of Western New York are getting their first taste of winter weather.

A lake effect snow warning continues in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties where six to ten inches of snow are forecast by 7:00 Monday morning. A less severe lake snow advisory is in effect for Southern Erie and Wyoming Counties where snow totals will be in the four to eight inch range.

The National Weather Service says Little Valley in Cattaraugus County has received the most snow so far with 3.8 inches as of 7am.

The immediate Buffalo area could see a snow shower Sunday but with no accumulation.

Overnight high wind warnings and advisories have expired. There was a peak gust of 59 miles per hour in Buffalo shortly after 1:00am. But there are no reports of damage or widespread power outages.
