The Service Collaborative of Western New York, Inc is recruiting high school dropouts between the ages of 16-years-old and 24-years-old for its YouthBuild program.
WBFO's Jay Moran spoke with Robin Barker, a recruitment officer for YouthBuild about the program.
The WNY YouthBuild program allows students to earn a high school equivalency diploma and learn construction skills as well as a obtain a certification that could lead to a career. The curriculum also allows recruits to pursue a job in the healthcare industry and teaches leadership development.
The ultimate goal of the program is to provide students with an education and employable skills that could lead to a career or furthering their education.
YouthBuild is seeking 32 recruits for its program that begins early next year.
