If you’re in the market for a building on wheels, you might want to take part in an online auction.
A 10-unit modular office building located on the campus of SUNY Fredonia is being sold by the state. Each individual unit measures 60 feet long and 12 feet wide. It was previously used for several years during a construction project on the campus.
The auction began Monday with the initial bid listed at $25,000 and will end on November 12 at 8 a.m.
Heather Groll, spokesperson for the state Office of General Services, tells WBFO each unit comes fully equipped.
“It’s got air conditioning, it’s got a disabled access ramp that’s included. It’s got bathrooms, it’s got heat, it’s got running water so it’s a really great alternative for people who don’t have a physical place to be in, but need a place to actually do business.”
Groll says the units will be sold as a group, however the highest bidder is responsible for moving the units off campus property within 10 days after the deal is finalized.
As for the use? Groll says there could be a lot of potential interest from a buyer in Buffalo as a result of increased development that is occuring in the city.
“People who are doing construction on office buildings, to schools who may need extra space or doing construction on their schools, or any other kind of construction site, or anyone who is looking to have temporary space for office work.”
