Students and faculty at the University of Buffalo are celebrating a second-place finish in a national home building competition focused on super efficiency and solar power. More than 200 UB members contributed to the GRoW Home, GRoW being an acronym for Garden, Relax or Work. The UB structure scored best in the categories of Energy Balance, Commuting, Appliances and Comfort Zone.
The competition is held in California, and the house will be shipped back to Buffalo after the 10-day event.
