A local family is filing a lawsuit against West Virginia University in the death of an 18-year-old student. Nolan Burch died from alcohol poisoning during a hazing ceremony as a pledge to the Kappa Sigma Fraternity at the school. The Burch family is hoping that the suit will help bring change to the culture of hazing on all campuses.
Two individuals have been arrested in connection with Burch's death.
The school has suspended on-campus activities by fraternities and sororities.
