The Buffalo Fire Department was called to a blaze this morning on Lafayette Avenue. Alarms rang at around 6 AM, drawing crews to a vacant house in the 300 block of the West Side neighborhood. Firefighters were able to contain the flames to the first floor, but damage estimates still rose to approximately $80,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
No injuries have been reported in connection with the incident.
