One Buffalo Beer premieres today

Kim and Terry Pegula have been pushing hard on the One Buffalo theme and now there will be a One Buffalo beer to drink while watching the city's sports teams.

Pegula Sports and Entertainment will be announcing its deal with Southern Tier Brewing Company out of Lakewood in Chautauqua County Friday to brew One Buffalo beer. The brew will be available on draft initially and some time in the middle of next month in six-packs to carry on the road.

For the brewery, it's a chance to show its ties to Buffalo and its citizens.

"The City of Buffalo is obviously a great consumer base for us, even though we're not based in Buffalo. We consider ourselves very local and our brands are quite popular in the City of Buffalo and surrounding areas. So, this is an opportunity for us to do something that really celebrates the city versus really celebrates Southern Tier, hence the One Buffalo brand name for the beer," Southern Tier CEO John Coleman told WBFO.

Southern Tier is an 11-year-old craft brewery with a range of different products, many seasonal, totaling around 100,000 barrels of brew a year. Coleman says it's so local and so fresh there is no need to pasteurize the products.
