Bike path connector opens on Outer Harbor

Chris Caya WBFO News

A new bike path extension opened on Buffalo's Outer Harbor Tuesday. Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul joined other officials for a brief ribbon cutting ceremony on the connector at the north end of Furhmann Boulevard near Wilkeson Pointe. Hochul says it's another step in the city's rebirth.

"Today we are celebrating once again, a continuation of the downtown Buffalo and Outer Harbor transformation. Because that's exactly what it is. We have transformed how people view this space," said Hochul.

The $145,000 project was funded by the New York Power Authority Re-Licensing Agreement. The Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp. worked with the N.Y. Department of Transportation to complete the project in about four months.
