US Senator Charles Schumer will announce today his support of a safe driving technology. Schumer is cosponsoring new legislation called the ROADS SAFE Act, which would speed the implementation of on board blood alcohol detectors in cars. The technology, known as The Driver Alcohol Detection System for Safety or DADSS, would instantly gauge a driver's blood alcohol level through touch or breath. It would disable the vehicle if that level were too high.

Schumer states he is responding to the number of alcohol related crashes that happen across the state annually.
