Buffalo Police take new tack on cold cases

The Buffalo Police Department is taking a two-pronged approach to solving its cold cases. The first step is a series of videos featuring relatives of the victims in hopes that the stories will encourage someone with information to step forward. The family of Journey Cooper appears in the first video. Cooper was killed a decade ago, and the clues in that case have gone dry.

The department is also increasing the incentive for providing such information. Cash rewards have been increased for tips that lead to homicide and illegal gun convictions.

Anyone with information can call the confidential tip line at 716 847-2255.
