City Honors slips by Nardin for top spot on WNY High School rankings

WBFO News File Photo

City Honors is number one on the Business First high school rankings list for the second year in a row.  The Buffalo Public School nudged out Nardin Academy by less than a point to capture the top spot.

The two schools have been close competitors for the last several years. Business First notes City Honors has been a regional leader in science and social studies while Nardin earns top marks in English and Math.

The rankings include 136 public and private schools from across Western New York. Business First ranks the schools based on four years of test data from the State Education Department, taking into account Regents diploma rates and scores on a variety of Regents exams.

Rounding out the top five are Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart, East Aurora High School and Mount Saint Mary Academy.

It's also noteworthy that 21 of the top 25 schools are located in Erie County.
