WBFO News

A United Airlines plane carrying more than 70 people skidded off a runway at Buffalo Niagara International Airport while landing on Sunday night.United Express flight 3796, arriving from Washington’s Dulles International Airport just after 11:30 p.m., touched down on a slick runway and skidded approximately 300 feet into a grass “safety area.”

There are reports that the plane’s pilot blamed the incident on wind sheer, but authorities are investigating the incident. No injuries were reported.

Officials say the main runway has remained open, and the incident is not expected to impact Monday travelers.
