Keenan sentenced to 15 years for father's death

Chris Caya/WBFO news

An Orchard Park man was sentenced today to 15 years in prison for his father's death. After facing an initial charge of murder, 22-year-old Sean Keenan entered a guilty plea on first-degree manslaughter charges on April 13.

Sean Keenan was arrested on July 7, for the  fatal beating and stabbing of 70-year-old John Keenan in their home on Hillsboro Drive.  After the murder, Keenan cut his hair and tried using his father's identification to cross the Rainbow Bridge into Canada.

During today's session, Keenan addressed the courtroom and apologized to his family.

After serving his prison term, Sean Keenan will serve five years of supervised probation.
