Wegmans is slated to expand into new territory downstate. The New York Times is reporting that the Rochester-based chain has won approval to develop it's first Wegmans in New York City.
The new store will be constructed at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The store is among several to be built on the site following a decade of fighting over whether to save Civil War-era homes along Admiral's Row on Flushing Avenue. The Navy Yard's board finally approved the redevelopment deal yesterday.
