How would you pitch Buffalo? A high-tech value for some

Officials from Visit Buffalo Niagara, the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center and several area hotels are in Albany this week to promote Buffalo to those making decisions about where to hold meetings, conventions and sporting events.Visit Buffalo Niagara President and Chief Executive Officer Patrick Kaler was among those officials spreading the good word about the Queen City. Kaler joined WBFO's Jay Moran from Albany on Morning Edition on Friday.

Officials with Visit Buffalo Niagara say its' sales staff generated $120 million for the local economy in 2014.

Jay joined Buffalo Toronto Public Media in 2008 and has been local host for NPR's "Morning Edition" ever since. In June, 2022, he was named one of the co-hosts of WBFO's "Buffalo, What's Next."

A graduate of St. Mary's of the Lake School, St. Francis High School and Buffalo State College, Jay has worked most of his professional career in Buffalo. Outside of public media, he continues in longstanding roles as the public address announcer for the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League and as play-by-play voice of Canisius College basketball.
