Chautauqua County Police report that they have identified and located a man who was thought to be attempting abductions of children in the Ripley area. The suspect was only identified as a white male with light colored hair who is driving a vehicle similar to a silver Hyundai Santa Fe. Authorities state that the man was in the region for legitimate reasons and that he is no longer thought to have had criminal intentions.
Police in Gowanda and Jamestown, however, state that they are still in the hunt for a suspect in a series of apparent abduction attempts.
