An overnight fire at a Transit Road business has caused heavy damage. Depew Police responded to a burglary alarm at the Occupational Medicine Health Care building just after 4 this morning. Officers witnessed flames emanating from the building and called firefighters. The blaze is considered suspicious in nature, and a male suspect was scene leaving the building and has been taken into custody.
One firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation, and damage to the structure and contents is estimated at over $1 million.
The investigation is continuing and the identity of the suspect has not been released.
