National Weather Service: A record low temperature this morning

Western New Yorkers are once again dealing with record breaking weather.

"We got down to one-degree below zero this morning. The old record was zero. So we did indeed set a record low temperature this morning," said Jeff Wood, National Weather Service Meteorologist. Wood adds the old record was set in 2007.

Wood said temperatures will hit about 20-degrees today but wind chills will make it feel colder again. The weekend will see temperatures in the 30-degree range with snow showers.

By next week, Wood said the chilly weather will give way to warmer temperatures, in the 40 degree range, by the middle of next week. It won't last though, he says cooler temperatures will follow right behind the warm up.

Wood adds some of the snow piles will likely melt a bit next week but he is not expecting any flooding issues at this point.
