East Aurora's quaint feel draws movie shoot

Chris Caya WBFO News

A small bake shop in East Aurora had the feel of a Hollywood movie set Monday. The main characters in Small Town Prince were filmed chatting over coffee and dessert inside Fire Fly Cupcakes on Main Street. Mascot Pictures Line Producer Brian Nolan says East Aurora fit the script perfectly.

"It was the quaint, cute Americana town we were looking for," said Nolan.

Nolan says the Village has everything they want and a lot more.

"It's a Christmas film and we specifically needed to go to a place that had snow. It was like integral to the script and to the production," he added.

The film is about a girl looking for something bigger and better when a European Prince gets stranded in her small town.

"They fall in love, at Christmas time."

Joanne Smith caught some of the action from the second floor of a salon across the street.

"I kept stretching my neck to see. But I couldn't get it all, being upstairs. But it's interesting," Smith said.

Filming of Small Town Prince is expected to continue, in and around East Aurora through the first week of March.
