The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office is advising extreme caution for snowmobilers traveling along Chautauqua Lake.The county's snowmobile division received numerous complaints, Saturday, of snowmobiles becoming stuck in heavy snow and slush, just a half-mile from the shoreline. Authorities were able to recover only one of the stranded snowmobiles, and lake travel is not recommended.
Chautauqua County snowmobile trails are open and in good condition, and are the recommended route of travel.
