The man involved in a tense standoff in Attica on Friday night has been identified. Thirty-nine year old Michael Balla was taken into custody after a four hour episode during which he claimed to possess a loaded weapon and a possible explosive in the Attican Hotel. Balla was been taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation and treatment of an overdose.
He is being held in the Genesee County Jail and will appear in court on Tuesday to face charges.
