The jury in the Jeffrey Basil trial will have new charges to consider in the case. A judge on Friday dismissed a defense request to have second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter charges dropped. The jury will be allowed to consider lesser charges of reckless manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and second-degree reckless endangerment as they deliberate next week.
Basil is charged with the death of William Sager, Jr. at Molly's Pub last summer.
