ESPN's Stuart Scott succumbs to cancer

A figure long familiar to sports fans across the country has passed away. ESPN SportsCenter anchor Stuart Scott died today at the age of 49. Scott fought a 7-year battle against cancer and continued working through many of his treatments. ESPN President John Skipper released a statement, calling Scott an energetic and inspirational person who will be greatly missed by everyone at the network.

Scott leaves behind his parents, two children and a girlfriend.
