Tips to keep your New Year's resolutions

Did you make any New Year's resolutions - and, if so, how are you doing?  One health expert provides some insight about how to reach your goals, whether they involve diet, fitness or nearly anything else.

Many of us make resolutions for the New Year such as Lynda Bradley of Buffalo who has resolved to eat a little healthier and University at Buffalo Student Raj Adituia who says he plans to cook more at home and apply for a job at a gym, hoping it will motivate him to work out more.

Making resolutions and keeping them are two different stories.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Western New York is offering up the following tips on how to improve your chances of following through with your resolutions.

1. Keep it simple.

2. Make it public.

3. Take it one step at a time.

4. Stay positive.

5. Reward yourself.
