Buffalo Police make arrests in recent gun incidents

WBFO News file photo

Buffalo Police say four people have been arrested in connection with a gun incident this weekend in the Central Park neighborhood. Police are investigating whether the four suspects may be connected to recent shootings in the area.

Officers pulled over a suspicious vehicle in the Jewett Avenue-Hill Street area on Saturday night when some of the individuals inside attempted to take off on foot. Officers apprehended the suspects after a short foot chase. Police recovered a stolen hand gun. The vehicle was also stolen.

The arrests follow Mayor Byron Brown's authorization last week of additional police patrols where recent gun violence has occurred including the Jewett Avenue area.

Buffalo Police have arrested at least seven individuals in the last week in connection with gun incidents and are investigating if they are connected to recent shootings.
