Buffalo Police have beefed up patrols after the city recorded nearly a dozen shootings over the past two weeks. The rash of violence has killed seven people, while putting neighborhoods on edge. Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda states that many of the shootings are likely related to gang activity, as the victims appear to have been targeted and not randomly struck. No arrests have yet been made, and Police are asking anyone with information to call the anonymous tip line at 847-2255.

The latest shooting occurred early this morning near Sycamore and Fillmore.

The victim is being treated at ECMC for non-life threatening injuries.
