Peace Bridge eases traffic flow

Chris Caya WBFO News

The first of several projects to speed U.S. bound traffic on the Peace Bridge is complete.A new wider approach to the customs plaza in Buffalo is now open to better separate car and truck traffic. And it will also allow easier access to NEXUS lanes.

Peace Bridge Authority Chairman, Sam Hoyt said, improving traffic flow will also help nearby residents.

"Because when you eliminate congestion points you eliminate the idling cars and trucks that are associated with traffic back ups and you improve the air quality."

And Hoyt said, congestion will also be reduced with the new highway ramps that are under construction to and from the Peace Bridge, and the renovations that are being made to the customs warehouse in Buffalo.
