A group of dedicated professionals is committing time and effort in bringing the best of the holidays to the Chippewa District. The Chippewa Alliance launched two days of "Holiday Cheer on Chippewa" Friday night. Festivities continue at noon Saturday, with many locations featuring specialty drinks and foods along with colorful holiday decorations. According to Alliance member Rachel DeDomenico, the celebration will help show visitors that Chippewa is evolving into a destination for everyone.
"We really have a unique feel because we've got the business professionals, we've got the nightlife, and we've got the residents. So, we're a little bit different than even Elmwood and Hertel because we have a little challenge with the schools, making sure that everybody wants to come down here and feel comfortable."
Music performed by members of Hutch-Tech High School will entertain revelers and shoppers as they take a break from the holiday push or look to find that special gift.
Collections will be made to benefit the Buffalo City Mission.
