Hundreds of people turned out to Buffalo City Hall yesterday afternoon to celebrate the city, itself.

At an event called “Take Another Look,” visitors could do just that, as the 28th and 25th floor observation decks were opened up. Marti Gorman, the organizer of the event, says that the view was the best part…

“People are so excited to be inside of this building on a Saturday, in areas of city hall that we very rarely get to access. More than half of the people I’ve spoken to have never been to city hall, and most of them have never been to the 28th floor observation deck, let-alone the 25th which is virtually never open,” said Gorman.

Buffalo-themed artwork by students of Buffalo Public School 84 at ECMC was on display on the 25th floor. The event also featured a Buffalo-themed gift fair in the building’s lobby, and a mini-Taste of Buffalo with delicacies from some of the city’s top downtown eateries. Gorman says the event aimed to display what a great destination Buffalo is, and supported disadvantaged children and families through local charities as well.
