The Lake Effect snow storm that buried areas south of Buffalo under several feet of snow is now attributed to five-deaths.

Early Tuesday morning Erie County officials announced that a fifth death occurred as a result of the storm.

Chief Scott Partonik is with the Erie County Sheriff's Department.  Patronik said this latest death occurred in Alden.

"We found an individual today. A 46-year-old male in the Town of Alden. The car was buried under approximately 12 to 15 feet of snow and he was found deceased," said Patronik "Another example that this is still a dangerous situation."

Four others also died as a result of this storm.  One person was killed after being pinned between cars while trying to push a stuck vehicle at French and Union Road in Cheektowaga.  Three others are related to cardiac issues.

Erie County urges citizens to remain off the snowy roads if they can.  A reminder -- there are many driving bans that remain in effect through out the region.
