A night out with friends has ended tragically in South Buffalo.  Buffalo police say a man rescued from Cazenovia Creek overnight has died.

Buffalo Police responded to a call of a man in the water along Cazenovia Creek near South Legion Drive shortly before midnight.

Police say the individual was apparently out with friends when he decided to go in the water.

The Buffalo Police Underwater Recovery Team was called to the scene and within minutes, located the victim and pulled him from the creek.

Emergency crews attempted to revive the victim.  He was rushed to nearby Mercy Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim's name has not yet been released.
