Didn't get your NYS family tax rebate? Here's what you can do...

New York State has set up a website for taxpayers who thought they were eligible for the Family Tax Relief Credit of $350  - but didn't receive a check.

The New York State Department of Tax and Finance website indicates you are entitled to this credit on your 2012 return if you were a resident of New York  for the entire year (2012), claimed at least one child under age 17 as a dependent, had New York State adjusted gross income between $40,000 and $300,000, and had a New York State liability after credits that is zero or greater.

The Tax Department automatically mailed checks to eligible taxpayers this fall. If you were eligible for the credit, you did not have to apply. If you think you are eligible, but did not receive a check, you will be able to have your case reviewed for eligibility by clicking here.
