Buffalo Bills fans are breathing a sigh of relief

Buffalo Bills fans are breathing a sigh of relief now that the Pegual's are the new owners.  WBFO'S Eileen Buckley headed to Orchard Park near Ralph Wilson Stadium to gather reaction.

"From what we -- as Buffalo -- knows Terry Pegula -- the NFL now knows that they've brought on a very great owner -- that makes the NFL even better with Terry Pegula as one of the owners," said Dan Prenoveau, co-owner of Danny’s Restaurant on Abbott Road in Orchard Park.

The restaurant and sports bar is filled Buffalo Bills and other sports memorabilia. It's located near the football stadium and even features a "tailgate" menu and Bills wide receiver Mike Williams is co-host of a show at the bar each week. Prenoveau said he believes Pegula is best to follow in Ralph Wilson's footsteps.

"He's got big shoes to fill -- and I think he is someone that can do it. I think his mentality about our area is the same and I think that it is important.  He's an owner who took the whole big picture like Mr. Wilson did," said Prenoveau.

But Prenoveau and other Bills fans, like Kathy Herling are hoping the Pegula's keep stadium in Orchard Park. They're not in favor of a downtown Buffalo stadium.

"But I really don't think we need a new stadium. The stadium looks wonderful the way it is now, and where are you going to put all the people for parking in downtown Buffalo," said Herling.

Prenoveau is also hopeful the Pegula's will stop by his restaurant.  He said Ralph Wilson stop at the eatery. "Tuna Melt was his (Wilson) sandwich. The Ralph Wilson Tuna Melt. If Kim and Terry want to come in we get a sandwich  named after them as well."

Many fans are feeling confident in the Pegula's ownership and say they've already proven themselves to the community as owners of the Buffalo Sabres.
