A late Friday night shooting in Northeastern Pennsylvania has taken the life of one state trooper and has injured another. The troopers were ambushed outside of the state police barracks in Blooming Grove, a township near Scranton. SWAT team members and helicopters are on the search for the suspect or suspects, and many area roads were temporarily closed, including a portion of Route 84.
There is no word on a possible reason for the shooting, and the condition of the injured officer has not been made known.
The names of the victims have also not been released.
