Cuomo brings last-minute rally to Buffalo

WBFO File Photo

Prompted by the surprisingly effective challenge from upstart candidates Zephyr Teachout and Tim Wu, Governor Cuomo will be in Buffalo today to try to energize local Democrats.

Cuomo and his running mate Kathy Hochul will hold a rally today at the IBEW union hall on California Road in Orchard Park.

According to the Buffalo News, the event will feature top officials with the Erie County Democratic Party. The Cuomo Administration has been feuding with local party officials in recent years.

At one time, the state's top ticket appeared ready to cruise to an easy victory in Tuesday's Democratic Primary. An ethics commission scandal involving officials from the Cuomo administration has outraged some of the governor's one-time supporters. Many have offered their support to Teachout, the Fordham Law School professor.
