A pair of tax rebate plans will begin benefiting New York State homeowners in September. A 3-year program will provide families with children under 17 and incomes between $40,000 and $300,000 per year with a $350 check beginning next month. Also, rebate checks connected with this year's growth in school property taxes will begin being processed at a later date. Those rebates will benefit districts that kept spending under cap limits even as school taxes rose.
The monies involved result from tax breaks that Governor Cuomo and the legislature have passed over the past two years.
