A statement has just been released from Governor Cuomo's office regarding the sale of the Buffalo Bills. The Governor states that he recognizes the economic, cultural and historic connection of the Bills to Western New York, and he pledges to work to keep the team in Buffalo. Cuomo mentions that he has been in touch with all potential buyers of the team, and that he has emphasized the importance of keeping the team in place. He professes to continue working with potential buyers with this goal in mind until the sale is finalized.

According to Cuomo, "The Bills support hundreds of jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars in investments in the region annually, and by being located in Western New York they benefit from the most dedicated group of fans in the NFL."

This message comes after Jon Bon Jovi released a letter to Bills fans intimating his interest in keeping the team Buffalo while offering no long term assurances.
