The owners of the Buffalo Sabres have hired an investment banker as they consider making a bid for the Buffalo Bills.
A person familiar with the hire says Terry and Kim Pegula have retained Steve Greenberg of Allen & Co., which is regularly involved in sales of sports teams.
The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to publicly discuss the matter.
The Pegulas have not publicly said they will try to buy the Bills, who are on the market after owner and founder Ralph Wilson died in March. But the AP has reported they are among prospective buyers who received a non-disclosure agreement and background on the Bills from a law firm representing Wilson's estate.
