Crane erected for high-profile Delaware/Chippewa project

Chris Caya/WBFO News

The steel frame for Delaware North's new corporate headquarters will start rising in downtown Buffalo next week. On Friday morning, crews roughly 270 feet above ground finished assembling the tower crane for the 12-story mixed-use building at Delaware and Chippewa. Along with offices, the building will include retail space and a 120-room hotel.

"We really are exciting to be a part of the revitalization of the central business district," said Uniland Development spokesperson Jill Pawlik.

Pawlik says the $85 million project is on schedule and the building's steel frame will start going up next week.

Delaware North is slated to move in in August 2015.
