A better than five month investigation has resulted in the firing of an Erie County Employee for the theft of fuel. The investigation, conducted by the Erie County Sheriff's Office, identified approximately $500 worth of fuel stolen from a county fueling station on Cemetery Road in Lancaster. The unidentified employee was taking the fuel for personal use.
Charges in the case are pending, but the nature of the crime indicates petit larceny.
