Chef’s Restaurant is now serving up pizza that will go to benefit the “Music Is Art” foundation. The Buffalo restaurant announced the creation of their all new “Chef’s Garage Pizza” Friday.

The pizza selections feature ‘Spaghetti Parm Pizza’named after the co-creator of the popular Chef’s dish and former ‘Rocket Star 7’ WKBW personality Dave Thomas. They also include ‘Chicken Wing Pizza,’ and a breakfast pizza named ‘Robby’s Goo Morning Breakfast Pizza,’ that was created by Goo Goo Doll’s rocker and Buffalo native Robby Takac.

Tackac says for every slice of breakfast pizza sold $1 will be donated to “Music Is Art.”

“We have an official mission, but generally what I say is it’s just reminding people how important music is in their lives and reminding people how in tough financial times sometimes that idea slips out of the educational system and slips out of the ideas of things that are necessary in our community. I think if you’re talking to me about this kind of thing, it’s kind of obvious that you need that stuff. I certainly would have had a different path in life if I wasn’t exposed to that stuff early on,” said Takac.

Chef’s owner Lou Billittier says their new pizza is unique, because it’s made with Chef’s bread dough and famous sauces.

“We we’re very torn. We don’t want to turn into a pizzeria we don’t want to change the idea of Chef’s, that’s why we don’t serve it in the restaurant, but we wanted another avenue. People kept telling us your bread is awesome, your sauce is awesome, so we started just using our bread dough out of our bakery and our sauce and people went crazy for it. So, we thought maybe we’ll try it and do it for take-out pizza and that’s how it started,” said Billittier.

Chef’s Garage Pizza is only available for pick-up of at the Chef’s drive-thru window. The pizza is being made in the garage located nextdoor to Chef's. The “Music Is Art” festival will take place on Saturday, September 13th at Delaware Park by the Marcy Casino.
