Mark Scott holds the Flanders Award for WBFO. Mark traveled to the AP awards in Saratoga Saturday to bring home the WBFO awards.

The winners were announced at the annual NYS Associated Press Broadcasters Association dinner.

WBFO also received the grand prize, tying with Oswego’s public radio station, WRVO, for the Steve Flanders Award, given to the radio station with the most first-placewins in the competition. This is the third time in the past eight years that WBFO has been honored with the top award.

WBFO also received eight special mentions.   The news team works to bring listeners the latest news from across our region, providing in-depth stories and features about the community, education, environment, cultural and life throughout the entire Buffalo Niagara region and eight counties of Western New York.

We thank our listeners and member support to  allow WBFO to cover our community news.
