A conviction has been reached in a trial involving a man who killed his mother in her West Seneca home. The body of Carol Quinn was found by authorities last May after friends became concerned over her absences. Her son, 45-year-old Primitivo Cruz, is facing 15 years to life at a July sentencing. Cruz beat, strangled and stabbed his mother after she attempted to force him to move out of her home.

Cruz had been unemployed and drinking heavily leading up to the incident.

An earlier trial in the case ended with a deadlocked jury.
