Thousands of shoppers are made their way to the Broadway Market in Buffalo Friday. People are looking for their Easter and Dyngus Day favorites. The popular market items include meats, breads, baked goods, and butter lambs.
People were able to enjoy Polish music, playing in celebration of the holiday weekend. David Kays says his family makes their way to the city from Arcade every year.
“The importance is having a packed place, seeing all of the different people, seeing the energy and the vibe. Also, celebrating the resurrection of our savior,” said Kays.
Chris Billings says she’s been coming to the Broadway Market around this time each year for over 50 years. She says she always picks out a traditional wooden Easter egg.
“We come with all of our grandchildren and now all of our great grandchildren. It’s something that we do and we look forward to it,” said Billings.
Billings says she encourages everyone to check out the festivities at the Broadway Market. There are extended hours this weekend. The market will be open until 7 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday.
